FALLOPIAN TUBE AND PRIMARY PERITONEUM CANCER

It is now believed that many ovarian cancers originate in the fallopian tube. Fallopian tube cancers are treated in exactly the same way as ovarian cancers and this is because they behave very similarly. We now think that many, if not all of the common epithelial cancers of the ovary may actually have arisen in the fallopian tubes.

Similarly, primary peritoneal cancers behave like ovarian cancers and are treated in the same way with surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy.
